1. Clean the Xlear Sinus Rinse bottle with soap and water or place on the top shelf of the dishwasher. Rinse thoroughly with sterilized or purified water.
2. Prepare the rinse solution by mixing ½–1 packet of Xlear Sinus Care Solution powder with 8–10 oz of purified or sterilized warm water. Ensure the water is not too hot. Stir until fully dissolved.
3. Fill the rinse bottle with prepared solution, attach nozzle and tube, and twist to seal.
4. While standing over the sink or a basin, tilt your head forward and to the side slightly. If you are washing the right cavity, tilt your head to the left – your right nostril should be slightly higher than your left.
5. Gently squeeze the bottle, allowing the solution to flow into the nasal passageway. As you squeeze, gradually increase pressure to completely and gently flush the passageway. You should start to see the solution begin draining out of the lower nostril.
6. Remove the bottle and allow the solution to drain from both sides as needed. Once the bottle is half empty, switch nostrils and repeat the process.
7. When finished, gently blow your nose through both nostrils to clean them.
8. Wash your rinse bottle after each use. Disassemble the nozzle and tube to ensure that you can clean them thoroughly. All parts of the rinse bottle and nozzle are dishwasher safe, or you can hand-wash them using warm water and dish soap. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
